Tutor Time

Our Tutor Time programme looks to enhance students’ opportunities and understanding of the wider world outside our Academy. This time allows ourÌýstudentsÌýand staff to build strong pastoral relationships that help guideÌýstudentsÌýthroughout their time at Shireland, creating foundations of trust and support. Ìý

The core of thisÌýprogramme is dedicated toÌýpersonalÌýdevelopment, languages, current affairs,Ìýnumeracy,Ìýand literacy.ÌýThe tutor time programme has been tailored specifically to each year group as seen below:

Tutor time is a 45-minute session each morning that enables students meet with their form group and tutor. Along with an extensive range of pastoral activities tutors will also monitor the following areas:Ìý

  • UniformÌý


Heads of Year are available each morning to support students and tutors. Ìý

ASSEMBLIES

Each year group comes together inÌýourÌý300-seatÌýauditoriumÌýfor a weekly assembly led by a senior member of staff. The topics discussed in these assemblies range from international events to embedding themes covered in PHSE and Personal Development sessions.
